Fast-track to ACS - Approved Prior Learning Programme
This programme provides an alternative way into the gas industry for suitable applicants, rather than the traditional NVQ or apprentice route.
Course Description
The Logic Certified Approved Prior Learning Programme consists of 10 days classroom based and approximately three weeks "on the job" training and summative assessments. (Length of course is dependant on Candidate ability and type of On the job training). It satisfies the CORGI requirements for application to the ACS assessment scheme by providing an auditable quality learning programme. Candidates can complete the on the job training with an employer, or we can help to find a placement for the candidate with a suitable CORGI Registered operative. The "on the job" portion of the course does not have to be full time. With the agreement of the supervising engineer, this part of the course can be completed over a flexible period of time, so making it easier to fit around other commitments. The classroom based part is broken down into modules, ending with a summative assessment. One successful completion of the course, the candidate can apply for the Domestic ACS assessments, prices for which can be found on the "Gas" pages, under "Initial ACS Assessments".
Requirements
Candidates must have a suitable background for acceptance on to the course, such as a mechanical, plumbing or engineering experience, but previous experience of working on gas is not necessary. A short initial interview is required to assess candidate suitability.
Cost
The cost is £1350.00 plus VAT. This includes 10 days classroom based training and summative assessments & training materials. ACS Assessments are charged separately.
